2018: construction of a new possum pen for my animal rescue/rehabber friend. It was a fun group project that didn’t take all day, although we didn’t paint it that day (green). My friend can have up to 200 possums at a time. The very tiny babies stay in a special room inside the house.
The wooden frame and door of the new possum pen is almost complete here. It was painted green later and then metal “hardware cloth,” which isn’t cloth at all but a type of wire mesh fence, was installed around it. On top, metal corrugated roofing to make the pen nice and shady under that hot Texas sun. She also put electric fans inside to keep the air moving, and fabric shading cloth over the hardware cloth to block almost all direct sunlight.

MAGA Christian hate on MAGA non-Christians is a feature, not a bug. It gets really bitter and ugly. Here pastor Joel Webbon (Right Response Ministries) expresses a sentiment that I suspect (but what do I know?) Jesus Christ would disapprove of:

A very gorgeous metallic blue Porsche convertible, parked at the curb under a tree, is absolutely covered in bird droppings. You can barely tell what color the car is underneath all the bird excrement.

This is why plant nurseries terrify me and I won’t go into one.
Someone really goofed up a channel sign at Allisonville Nursery (near Indianapolis) back in 2006: “FRESH CUT PENIS $7.99” The photographer is unknown but a reposter of this photo also witnessed the sign and says that it was real and that it was up for about 2 hours before someone informed the establishment that the proper spelling was “peonies.”

A Passel o’ Possums. Frame capture from a video I did a few years ago for a friend who’s a dog and possum rescuer and rehabber.
A group of rescued opossums staring up at me and my camera as I record them in their rescue pen. They were not exactly happy when my friend the rescuer temporarily lifted the plastic tote lid they were huddled under, but didn’t complain much.

May 4, 2019: Lake Mineral Wells State Park (TX) held a wildflower walk that day. Our park ranger tour guide is seen here leading our little group. Later that day I asked him about the copperhead snakes that I see every time I camp overnight in the park. “Don’t folks get bit here?" I asked. 1/2
