Defenestrate: (v) throw (someone) out of a window.

Just an English teacher living in Michigan. No profile pic to avoid any students finding me.
Married to K who is sometimes referenced in posts and is also a teacher
Me: it’s quiet time. Do you want me to stay while you put your pants back on or just leave and you go to quiet time

Toddler: leave

Me: *leaves*

Toddler: 😧

Petition for all officials of sports to have toddlers enforcing the rules of the game.

Overheard while my 3 year old watches F1 with my partner “But WHY aren’t they staying on the road?!?! They shouldn’t drive on the grass!!!”

Imagine hockey fights “NO! Those are NOT gentle HANDS!”

So weird to be in a world where the right wing politics have actually moved us left now. So many leftists I’ve heard say that the US should stop meddling in foreign affairs, and now we are actively kicked out of foreign affairs.

My most hottest of hot takes: the older you are the less your vote matters. I’m tired of living through the results of 70-90 year olds’ choices when they will die before they experience the consequences. I could be convinced to cheapen the vote of the super young because of lack of education too.

Hot Take: Severance is just the surrealist horror version of Night at the Museum and it makes sense that Ben Stiller is the creator. Obviously Night at the Museum was his magnum opus. #severance

One of the best parts of being an English teacher is when you have to talk about a romantic relationship between characters and the kids get sooooo awkward about it. I revel in their discomfort. As a student, it was the worst. As a teacher, it is my joy.

One of my favorite parts of having a developed brain is that I’m not scared of and actually looking forward to hearing my family complain about the economy and getting to say “Well that’s what happens when you vote for a fascist” and then watch them explode in their useless excuses.

My severance theory: there has to be something that the severed workers can do that they can’t do unsevered. Otherwise, why would they ever allow Helena to become a worker? It wouldn’t be worth the PR considering her safety was at risk

I wish the world would go to shit during the summer. At least then I wouldn’t need to fight the vague sense of doom AND my seasonal depression

Sometimes I think it’s okay to remind ourselves that we cannot do everything and what we are doing still matters. Find your way to resist what’s happening and then remember that you are one person and it takes a collective. You are enough

Just want to mention that DEI does not mean a candidate isn’t qualified. It means the company wants everyone to feel comfortable, safe, and accepted at work. It’s sucks that people seem to believe that there isn’t enough equity to go around

All of our entertainment is sus now. I’m going to end up back at my roots of fanfiction, solitaire, and pandora radio 💀

Do y’all think when we actually start “finding out” because grocery prices increase due to tariffs and undocumented workers getting deported that we’ll actually find some unity? I sincerely hope so because I’m already tired and it’s been 6 days.

Fun fact time: vultures have stomach acid so powerful that they are immune to rabies

They also are so terrified of humans that they will puke everything up if a human gets near

Wildest part of adulthood is finding yourself unbothered by mistakes you make because mistakes are inevitable. I am slowly becoming less haunted because I’ve produced so many ghosts they drown themselves out.

There are lots of benefits to having a partner:
1. Double income
2. Someone else to do the chores you hate
3. Extra cuddles

However, as a night owl, I’d like to watch some videos…and how can I do that when said partner is snoozing 😔
*no I won’t grab my headphones they are too far away*

One of the things I appreciate about BlueSky so far is the fact that if I leave the app for a little and don’t close it, it doesn’t automatically refresh. I can pick up right where I left off

With the popularity of World War 2 movies, I’m baffled how anyone is possibly misconstruing Muskrat’s gesture.

Sometimes I think I’m a bad parent. Then I remember that there used to be campaigns such as the Hug Your Children campaign to remind parents to literally…hug their children

Thankful for the snow days I’ve had the past several days. I don’t have to potentially deal with kids replicating Nazi shit because they idolize dipshits

I can’t honestly say I took some kind of stand by not watching the inauguration today. I was never gonna watch his inauguration. It never occurred to me to do that.

Me: I think my hot take is that Tangled is better than Frozen
K: I think that is a cold take
Me: You’re a cold take!
K: I think Frozen is a cold take
Me: …I’m posting this to BlueSky

I know it’s been a hard day. If anyone needs a pick me up, we celebrated our kiddo’s 3rd birthday this year. He’s obsessed with The Little Blue Truck books, so I made his cake to reflect it.
