Their bodies remain there to this day, a grim warning to all who approach the wall seeking aid.

After the massacre, The Salvare learned of the tragedy through scouts sent to investigate the group’s silence. Devastated but undeterred, they carried on.

Loudspeakers warned them to turn back. They were told they would be shot. But they did not turn back.

Singing hymns and shouting prayers, they marched forward, determined to return with help for those who couldn’t make the journey. And, as promised, they were gunned down.

Spearheaded by the pastor, robed in ceremonial garb, the group began the multi-day trek to the wall. As they crossed the bridge to the narrow stretch of land that separated the Zone from the wall, they lifted their religious symbols high and pleaded for aid.

Scouts returning to camp reported a massive wall being erected along the western edge of Foxton, just beyond the agricultural zone. It was guarded by military personnel and appeared insurmountable. Confusion and fear swept through the camp until they learned what the government was keeping in.

After The Event, the religious groups quickly joined forces, naming themselves The Salvare, from the Latin for “the salvation.” While they couldn’t save everyone, they helped those they could. The pastor of the local church, a veteran who had served pre-cold war, assumed the role of their leader.

Damage types have been added to help Directors better detail how players interact with the world. They also make players think about how to take on challenges.

Each weapon also now has a damage type associated with it which has been denoted on the weapons table and weapon cards.

Having a talk with your players before a campaign is a great way to find subjects players don't want to bring up or glaze over. The Protecting Players section goes over how do that in a horror setting and make sure everyone is on board.

Play fun but play safe. It's a dangerous world out there.
