I got this email from Colourmart a couple weeks ago. It applies to the UK, but maybe the situation is the same for Canada 🤷‍♀️
Tariffs etc - we believe no effect on our shipments to US. Hi It seems timely to comment on the latest Tariff introductions as they relate to Colourmart yarn shipments. Our current understanding is that our shipments will not be affected. This is because we send our shipments via the international postage network, and they enter the US under the "De Minimis" rule, which allows packages of up to US$800 in value to be imported for consumer purchasers without duties or taxes. The De Minimis rule allowance was yesterday removed from shipments from China and HK to the US, but not from any other country, at least as far as we un derstand. So please keep buying :-) We don't know if UK exports will ever stop being able to use the De Minimis rule. But even if that does stop we already deal with tariffs and taxes on our shipments to the EU, Australia and other countries, and we would expect to be able to keep shipping to the US as well, though there might be some small cost increases in that case. One rule we always apply is that if for any reason of tax, tariff, customs etc you get charged more than we put on our order confirmation, we will refund the difference.
