dumb trait i gave sacha/esteem is he does the same thing i do when i’m excited/having fun, which is that i shiver violently like a small dog in a purse. my teeth clack together happily. i do not know anyone else who does this nor why it happens

forgive my rambling. the lizard does things to me. i feel sometimes that people don’t think i take him seriously or feel happy to rib because i poke fun at him but i’ve put many years of love into writing him and get that itch of embarrassment when i reveal that tenderness too much.

everyone thinks you are the same as them and you want to be, but you are not. indelible stain. you are a ghost possessing your own body, and isn’t that the same as being alive? and it isn’t but there’s no way to say that. you just drag your own corpse along in the dirt behind you forever. oh sacha

death is both someone he has formed connection through (with peony, with all the people he’s met after fleeing the steppe) and deeply isolating. everyone around you is alive, and they think you are too. there is no possible way to explain what it feels like to be killed. to be dead.

speaking of pen before his Arc. learning how to be a person and have wants and likes and dislikes. sacha is just kind of like that, and has been since his death— something along the way peeled away from him, a permanent depersonalization he’s casually incorporated into his personality.

sacha and pen are funny bc they both have very very little ego to speak of. you can insult sacha to his face and he’ll laugh and agree with you. pen will barely react at all. blinking hollowly

sacha is funny bc i get to play him generally as a background npc/acquaintance to almost everyone (which tracks for him, given his aversion to closeness and emotional intimacy). he gets to be the bartender with weird proclivities that people keep shoving huge sacks of gil at much to his exasperation

post moonlight thoughts. i love seeing everyone and do recognize regulars even if they don’t always stop by the bar. i appreciate the wallflowers as well :) please if you ever want to mingle with sacha do not feel intimidated. he is happy to assist and (albeit somewhat awkwardly) chat!!
