Can you find any footage where he seriously engages with or considers the benefits of affirmative action in undoing generations of hiring/admissions practices that benefit white candidates over equally qualified black candidates? I'll wait patiently.

He's purposely repeating the racist trope that any beneficiary of affirmative action is not qualified for their position, and whether or not he says it's his position or "what people are saying" doesn't change that he's presenting that position uncritically and in bad faith.
