Alas, that is still a demonstrative use of our sanctions legislation unless they have property/accounts in Canada. Might be better to consider whether the Arms Trade Treaty might apply to certain exports to the US ....

Second, while it is good that Poilievre agree's generally with Carney, he is wrong that Canada is not courting other allies in the US - we have a capable embassy and multiple consulates doing that. And Poilievre using the bulk of the comment to attack the Liberals undercuts his message.

Good piece. I disagree on two points. Implicit in Carney's speech and absent from Poilievre's comment is the fundamental untrustworthyness of this US government. Beyond basic trade any deal will likely cost us sovereignty or dignity and even then the US will break that deal. 1/2

My favourite is Feta, which the Europeans insist is a geographical indication like Champagne, but is actually a local word for ‘cheese’ ….

I don't know the name, but they were large-ish, about the size of a small apple. It was in the Middle East, fresh off the tree....

Hmmm - doing this by memory, it has been a few years. If you have them properly ripened they are super sweet, almost honey-like. Not quite as sweet and rich as a medjool date, and a lot juicier - really lovely. Unripe, they are amazingly tannic and pretty unpleasant.
