Interesting piece but, through the growth of the EU, Europe is responsible for undermining its own democracy and rule of law. In degrading politics and democracy, the EU itself may be part of the problem.

48% voted Remain at the EU referendum despite a big majority supporting EU membership for years & decades prior. A 56% figure now is fairly unremarkable, would also shift in any new vote and doesn't necessarily translate to support for rejoining.
