it mostly comes down to how how much the game sticks to a realistic/grounded style that arguably makes it age worse than say, Wind Waker or Skyward Sword. HD version removing the bloom and lighting effects kinda emphasizes that unfortunately.

some of these are okay, but they just don't do it for me tbh. This odd compromise between the toony Wind Waker aesthetic and Ocarina of Time-style designs just create a meh look to me most of the time

Iunno I just kinda like it when the art direction has a personality, especially when that kinda is lacking in the current games beyond just occasionally quirky side characters

Felt like replaying a few of the Souls games so I installed a mod into the DS1 Remaster that more or less fixes the lighting and textures to look more like the PTDE release
Mod was obnoxiously huge to download from nexus, but it was worth it
