Does everybody need to self custody their wealth? No. But they should have the ability to do so digitally should it be possible and should they so choose. And that isn't really possible in the traditional world of banks. Cryptocurrency / blockchains tech enables this.

I think fundamentally crypto is good. Ppl misuse it to do bad things, but that doesn't make the thing itself bad.

I see crypto in a similar vein to open source software, but for money. It allows the possibility to self custody you're own money. And that is a good thing.

What is wrong with blockchain and cryptocurrency? The core principles it represents are a noble cause imo. Just as open source software enthusiasts are advocates of having self sovereignty over your software and data, blockchain strives to enable self sovereignty of your money.
