Just put up our Christmas tree for 2024. This will be our 28th Christmas together. As you get older and wiser you appreciate even more being able to share the holidays with that special someone you've loved for so many years.

Happy Monday to my new Bluesky friends. Just finished working out. 30 minutes of weights and 30 minutes of low impact aerobic dance. Both from Paul Eugene on YouTube. Physical therapy is coming up a bit later for Plantar Fasciitis.

This week, I've been helping a good friend who moved and downsized her home over the weekend. She's quite a shopoholic, and her garage is still stacked with boxes. Wish I could convince her to dump more stuff. Once done, I'm going to reward myself with a pampering mani-pedi. I deserve it. 🙂

I have two beautiful, smart step-grandaughters in college. Also, a 20 year old step grandson who's working full time. What are good Christmas gift ideas? It was so easy when they were kids. Gift cards seem like such a cop out.

In December, people used to go door to door in small bundled up groups and sing Christmas carols for fun. If we were neighbors and I supplied the song sheets, would you go? Serving homemade chili with cornbread and cookies afterward at my place.

Worked out for 90 minutes this AM. First time I've worked out so intensively for a good six months. (Challenging with Plantar fasciitis. I start physical therapy tomorrow. )
I've noticed if I work out hard, I'm more likely to eat right the rest of the day. I want the most value from the workout.

In Nov '23, I got the opportunity to visit India with Ernie and his grown son, Steven. The picture is in Amritsar with the Golden Temple in the background. Architecture is gorgeous. It was the weekend of Divali, festival of lights. The biggest festival of the year in India. Everyone celebrates!
Ernie and I decided that instead of Chrismas gifts to unwrap on 12-25, we'll put the money toward having memorable experiences together. After all, the special time we share is the greatest gift of all. So it might be a weekend getaway or a Las Vegas show. I love our shared history together.

Did a 90-minute workout this morning. Whew! First time in a couple of months - getting back in the groove. It felt so good to move, dance, stretch, squat, and lift weights. I'm sure I'll feel it later. (I got a few kettlebells last Christmas.)

It's Sunday. After breakfast, I'm going over to my BFFs to help her unpack. She's downsized, has 40% less square footage, but has barely downsized her stuff. Boxes to the ceiling. 26 crates of Christmas stuff. Kind of a shopaholic. She's none too happy about it. It's going to be fun, fun, fun!!

You don't have to share all the same interests to find love after 40. IMHO, you do have to share the same values. Hubby and I have been together happily for 27 years. We still laugh, realizing we don't share a whole lot of interests. Yet, every day, we share a deep love and respect for each other.

Hubby and I went to an annual Thanksgiving leftovers party today. I made a big salad with organic spinach, diced turkey, diced roasted sweet potato, dried cranberries, feta cheese, brioche stuffing croutons and cranberry vinaigrette It always goes fast amongst all the carbs and sweets. Yumm-o!!

Equality is crazy important to me. I certainly didn't agree with everything my candidate said. However, I believe she spoke more to equality for all than her opponent. It's always been the promise of America, but it's still a distant dream on the horizon for so many.
