I'm reworking vehicle nav. Maps are modular, so I have to cover every possible scenario. Traffic drives on every road tile you add in the map editor and CPU drivers race checkpoint to checkpoint as fast as they can, trying not to plow through traffic #indiegame #indiedev

Current progress of the Pico Drift netcode.
Predictable collision behavior is key (As speed increases, syncing cars becomes trickier)
Online pit maneuvers and close tailgating should be possible.
Top left is host -Client ping is ~100ms (relay server)

Short dev update: Syncing netcode gets trickier as speeds increase 😅
Because of latency, you basically have to predict the future. I built my own high-speed test track and my test cars are endlessly lapping at 120 mph+
