You may THINK you know Virginia's lieut-gov elect @senatorhashmi.bsky.social, but for the library folks out there, did you know she's published about information literacy?

Even Windsor Farms (v fancy neighborhood in Richmond where I often run) is getting into the #nokings act! The resistance hits differently when it's the millionaires resisting.

The judge in #ALA v Sonderling handed down a narrow TRO restraining the #IMLS from actions, including canceling more grants and terminating staff. Screen shot attached.

Here's our appeal letter - from our Foundation which does our grant management. We responded in egms as well as to the email address that the original cancelation came [email protected] I believe

The Library of Virginia had an IMLS/NPS Save America's Treasures grant reinstated. This was to digitize legistlative petitions from the early federal period. (The original press release about the grant is here: www.lva.virginia.gov/news/press/M...)

All #IMLS staff have just been placed on administrative leave, for up to 90 days. There is no word yet on how the statutory obligations of IMLS will be carried out. State libraries, and libraries those who rely on their state library for IMLS funding are in the dark.

I'll take *things that are more embarrassing when you're the state librarian* for $100.

The National Museum and Library Services Board sent the attached letter to IMLS acting director Sonderling today. It's a strong and appropriate letter from the board appointed to advise #IMLS. (Attaching as images as I can post files.)

Virginians, during the colonial era, had strong and differing views on the monarchy, as can be seen from this amazing court record book from Accomack county in the Library of Virignia's collections!

Always great to have the legislators from southwest Virginia (and the Governor and Lt Gov) at the Library of Virginia for their annual General Assembly session reception. A packed house, with our current exhibition banners on display!
