The conference brought to the forefront the urgent need to tackle inequalities in dementia healthcare. We must keep the conversation going and work together to address and reduce such inequalities.

Stephen Kinnock MP shared the government’s ambitions for the 10-Year Health Plan. He outlined how the Dementia 100 Pathway Tool will help assess services and identify best practice, and how the Modern Service Framework aims to reduce unwarranted variation in dementia diagnosis and care.

Geoff and Jaq shared their experiences of inequalities across the care pathway. Their powerful stories shone a light on the experiences of many. They both placed a real emphasis on the need for personalised, person-centred care.

An insightful day at #ASAC25 yesterday. Lived experience was at the heart of the discussions, with people sharing their stories, as well as hearing from research and services - all highlighting the stark inequalities in dementia diagnosis, care, and support.

New research alert🚨

This paper reviews evidence of existing interventions designed to improve care for people with dementia who may have reduced awareness of their difficulties. It also considers the utility, feasibility, and acceptability of such interventions.
