I just got my donairs *back*, and now we’re swapping them out? How about this, though: my new tradition next year will be vegetarian pasta on game day!

All the best to him in the future!

Thank you!

But do I believe in him? Let’s start with this: I believe that next year, the Wanderers will do things they’ve never done before. And I can’t wait.

And going against any other MLS team in the early rounds will have an extra appeal!

(Haha — we’ve gone from Vaughanderers to Vanderers!)

That’s a really great answer. The CPL has been around long enough that you can see how some teams always seem to scramble after a big departure or an injury, and some take it in stride.

It’s like an FBI “Most Wanted” list. Neat!

That’s rough for Ottawa fans, but it’ll add a little chaos for us neutrals. (And, regrettably, it might take a few more scheduling debacles yet before Canadian soccer infrastructure rises to meet the new demand.)

Ottawa-Nashville for sure. Not only is Nashville not the juggernaut that Tigres or Cruz Azul are, but there’s also the appeal of a CANMNT member playing in Ottawa, a reunion of some old USL fixtures, and the incentive of playing Miami afterwards.

Including the competitions we haven’t qualified for yet!
December 10, 2025 at 12:51 AM
Another bonus if Sartini is hired: he’d take the Canadian Championship *very* seriously.

Having gone through a string of first-round exits (including one to Saint-Laurent), the Wanderers dearly need some success in that competition!

Anyway, pedantry aside, thank you for pointing out the silliness of reporting the news as “not yet finalized.” It feels like a flimsy legalese qualifier to let them claim they didn’t actually spoil the announcement.

Quick correction: Alan Koch coached FC Cincinnati before Edmonton, did he not?

But he was hired in Cincinnati as a USL coach, so maybe Sartini still gets the honour.

Oh yeah! Whitecaps vs Forge redux!

If it’s true, a hire like Sartini would check all the boxes Derek Martin was looking for — and Sartini’s been a curiously available option for a while now.

and PFACan President!
