Just in time for spooky season, we have some exciting news: Asian forest scorpion Kylo Ren is now a mom! 🦂

While we weren’t expecting scorplings, this was a welcome surprise! Some of these little ones will stay on as future Ambassadors here at DZCA.

Our African lion cubs got to explore outside for the very first time last week. Their public debut is October 9, and starting then, they’ll be outside daily from 9:30–11:30 a.m. in the Maternity Yard!

🐊 It’s #Croctober and we’re celebrating one of our most legendary residents: Daphne our Siamese crocodile! At 65 years old, Daphne is the oldest animal at the Zoo and a true guest favorite.

Earlier this summer, we teamed up with South Platte Park, CSU Spur and Denver Parks & Recreation to host three river cleanups, removing trash, protecting wildlife, and making our waterways healthier for both people and animals. 🦫

Yesterday was World Gorilla Day! 🦍🦍 Here at Denver Zoo Conservation Alliance, we’re celebrating our two half-brother gorillas, Kal and Gunther. These two came to us from Zoo Atlanta five years ago through the Gorilla Species Survival Plan, and while their personalities differ, their bond is strong.

Tensing, our greater one-horned rhino loves her enrichment, from chasing a ball, rolling a barrel, and splashing in her pool. Enrichment keeps animals like Tensing active, engaged, and curious, and it’s a joy to watch!
