Look at this lovely red frog camouflaged brilliantly with the fallen beech leaves. Apparently common frogs do come in this colour! Who knew?!?
This is why I like leaving fallen leaves on the borders so all the creatures can hide over winter. #gardener #gardening #frogs

Weeding gravel this afternoon, made a good dent (despite the weeds rooting through the membrane 😩) next time I’ll finish off this area, remove the bergenia and move on to the next lot! #weeding #gardening #gardenmaintenance

Pond shenanigans this morning. Arrived to find pond pump blocked. Cut back fuchsia hard and cleared roots & debris.
Cut back reeds and dredged the bottom of the pond, this released the pump blockage! Hurrah! #pond #pondcleaning #pondmaintenance

#leafmageddon clearance this afternoon. No blower for me, just my trusty leaf grabber which I find just as quick to create piles and get them in the bin.

Started chopping back the invasive reeds by the pond this morning. Left a few in the pond as hiding places for the fish. Over winter I’ll be attempting to dig out as much of the running roots as possible to try and stop it spreading #gardening #gardener

Photos of my garden this morning. Had a little pootle, chopped cannas and mulched them. Took more tender salvias and geraniums into the greenhouse, swept up more leaves. The big cherry and the fig are mostly done but the lilacs are now just starting to drop.
