Ask HE staff, particularly PSS, and I bet most will tell you that they have had more than enough of 'transformation' projects. Most lead to fewer people struggling to do more.

It was protection against unfair dismissal. In this case it would not be unfair to tell the employee to sling their hook 5 minutes in.

Either we are independent institutions working in a competitive market, or we are not. This constant pulling one direction and then the other will break the whole sector (if it hasn't already).

BBC report says "on the edge of UK waters", "entered UK waters" and "in our wider waters". I have no idea what these mean, and no idea if the ship is in "our" waters or not. Sloppy journalism, or very careful wording?

They just pull it off a little bit at a time, testing the reaction and then a bit more, etc. Pushing the boundaries of acceptability slowly, hoping people don't notice.

Why would the French be bothered about people leaving France? Countries tend to enforce their border to manage people coming in, not going out.
