It’s 9/9, Japanese Giant Salamander day! They’re called Oosanshou, roughly translated it means big pepper fish. When upset, these big salamanders supposedly produce a stinky mucus that smells kind of like Japanese pepper 🌶️

Why do both emperor newts and female trilobite beetles have this same look? I think it because they’re both poisonous? But i really don’t know for sure! 😅
