You probably could. I only use it to edit my downloaded fics and I store those files in my cloud. My excel is a sort of digital library. It‘s colour-coded and searches are easy for words and „last updated“ date. I HAVE been updating it for over five years at least. Takes time, but I don‘t mind.

I use a tolino ereader and I use calibre to adapt the fanfic files' meta data so they all have a universal formatting. The excel file I use is a sort of digital library that I can use everywhere. For my desired purposes, excel is way more efficient than calibre.

For this purpose I have an ongoing excel file for all the fanfics I've bookmarked and/or downloaded with fandoms, status, word count, etc. I'm currently working on adding ships and tags. I also have an elaborate folder system for the epubs. Makes searching easier. Might showcase my ADHD as well... 😅
