And these are fabrics made with different weaves. The blue one is a 100 percent silk twill, and the grey one is a satin made out of acetate (which is synthetic.)

The benefit to satin on hair and skin is that the way it's woven makes it smoother, which means it's much gentler. It is less likely to cause damage. Natural fibers are more breathable and can have moisture wicking traits, but for many people it's not a significant enough difference to pay more.

You can't compare them because they're different things. Silk is a fiber. Satin is a weave. You can make satin out of silk.

What people are really arguing about is whether they should use silk or polyester/ other synthetic fiber satin, and that comes down to whether the extra cost is worth it.
