Always, always vote. But even more important than voting is to get involved in picking better people to run.

Some of us are Dems trying to get more people to vote for better Dems. We need more people involved, more people voting, not less.

Let’s not forget that when we gave Obama and the Dems a supermajority, they had to make up reasons why they couldn’t just do what we elected them to do and that we gave them the mandate to do.

The underlying driver here is that “centrists” really just serve the same neolib oligarchs as the right. That is why they won’t fight for us and why they keep trying to drag us to the right when we all want to go further left. “Abundance” is just neolib nonsense dressed up as a new idea.

Voters are not obligated to vote for those who won’t represent them or work for them. What we need are politicians who follow the people, who do what we are asking them to do, who will not serve the oligarchs who own both parties.

The real political divide is between those who support neoliberal economic ideology (aka supply side, trickledown, Reaganomics, “abundance”, welfare for billionaires/austerity for the rest of us) and those who don’t.

My fed house rep is Somali, my state sen was Somali. Tried to elect a progressive Somali mayor. ICE, get the fuck out of my city! It is you we don’t want.
