I will say it is a time where you really discover yourself when faced with something so awful. It's hard and it's gonna suck and you're gonna think you can't get out of it, but when you look back 5 years from now you'll be amazed how far you've come and just how strong you are.

10 years ago I was in the same boat, we bought a place and 18 months later parted after 7 years together. Had to live in the house with her for 5 months just to save money to get a deposit on a new flat. And I took the pets because she wouldn't look after them and spent more time on Tinder.
