29 year old black transfem, chaotic tired gremlin here to chill out and enjoy the vibes.
Social media be like “say whatever you want about trans people” but also “P-pwease dont huwt the f-fascists’ feefees.” They can fuck off. In 2025 everybody has the right to be Americaphobic. American government and tech companies actively speedrunning the worst timeline for 2 extra dollars.

The second Trump term truly feels like a limit test of how much the US government can get away with abusing its citizens. It fucking sucks. I wish our only option for a party had the balls to stand up for fucking anything.

Continuing to wonder just how many things AI is going to get to irreversibly ruin about society before anything gets done about it.

TL;DR: People arent crybabies for wanting shit they buy to be affordable and work.
Games can and should be affordable. Accounting for inflation does not account for peoples wages being stagnant.
Capitalism is the problem. Capitalism is always the problem.

Never long posted before 😊 lets goo (9/9)

That is not the consumer’s fault. We are not laying those people off for their hard work. Bad actors definitely exist in the gaming sphere. They are more a product of the divisive internet we live in that profits off of rage doing its job: making people angry to divide and conquer us. (8/9)

Execs and shareholders weigh down the industry with $$ in their eyes. Rushing dev time
Crunch culture
Inflated budgets
Predatory monetization
Shipping unfinished games at full price
Thousands of Layoffs of talented staff
Studio shutdowns
Just so they can make 1 more $ so line go up this quarter. 7/9

The AAA games industry still puts out some bangers, some great games, some great works of art. But the ones that come out are despite the industry, not because of it. Artists, writers, talented devs put their souls into these things. They are doing their best for the situation they’re in. (6/9)

These are not only lovingly well crafted games that got to have proper development time. They are also games people can actually afford so more people can buy, play and talk about them. For games to have a cultural impact, they cant just be a luxury for the rich. (5/9)

A lot of the games people have been enjoying this year and raving about: Expedition 33, Silksong, Deltarune, etc have been AA or lower games with prices lower than the industry standard. Silksong, a GOTY contender being $20. Need I even mention Balatro from last year. (4/9 I think)

Games do not need to have overinflated budgets ballooned to the point that they’re only going to break even if they’re game of the year+everyone buys the DLC+ microtransactions on a full priced game. They need to be fun.

(3/probably gonna be longer than 8 I don’t think I mathed right lmao.)

Don’t get me wrong. Whiny babies exist in gaming spaces for other reasons, but customers are not “whiny babies” for wanting their product they spent their hard earned money on to be reasonably priced and fucking work. (2/8)

$100 is not cheap for the average person. $70 is already a steep investment for most people when so many people are barely getting by. Adjusting for inflation continues to be the worst argument for price increases because people’s wages/spending power never rise to meet it. We are just poorer. (1/8)
