I don't understand why content negotiation is not the answer. We have ways to render a resource to be human readable. We have ways to render a resource to be machine readable. Serve the resource at a URI as the content type the user agent asks for!

Could cut about 30 minutes out of the middle without missing a beat. The 12 random pilots they had competing for slots was a superfluous slog. You know Gosling is going to make it. Just start with five more and be done with it. On Rewatch you can skip those scenes entirely and it's better for it.
