Absolutely loving the Shetland weather, and it smells incredible here - floral and salty

Leaving Aberdeen, heading for Shetland. Fine night for it

Holy Trinity church in Rothwell Northamptonshire - one of only two ossuaries left in the country as far as I can see. Strange and moving place to visit

One more day and then a weekend of trying to stay cool and reading. I have a stack of proofs and arcs to look forward too with the latest T Kingfisher at the top of the pile

I don't know what's going on out there but I'm staying in here... Terrifying

It's niche interest, but books like this are so important, and so are the small local publishers making them happen. The Shetland Times is up for sale, I hope it finds a buyer and continues it's sterling work.

The book that I bought in Edinburgh? @edentravels.bsky.social Green Mountains. Made Waterstones get it out of their delivery, made myself hungry reading it on the train back. It looks wonderful so far

Having a lot more fun reading this than I expected, it's funny and smart and not too serious

I was given Lego for Christmas - less stressful than a jigsaw though essentially the same thing right?

In the season of late starts and finishes at work so I'm taking a few minutes to enjoy my tree before I head in

Candlelit coffee and watching the sunrise. A good start to a new week and day off after the madness of the last weekend in retail

Red sky in the morning - black Friday is going to be a pain in the arse
November 29, 2024 at 8:02 AM
Coffee is gone, weather appropriate reading put down, time to leave for work. The lack of snow days is a real downside to both adult life and city centre living

Very nice little stack of review copies waiting for new at work today - not sure* where to start they all look great

With Marjorie Bowen, obviously

Fun day poking around antique shops. Found a pint mug I'm very happy with and a carving fork we needed. Kettles on.

Finished quince jelly - the colour!
October 27, 2024 at 2:36 PM
Using the extra hour today to make quince jelly, it's certainly taking its time to reach setting point - smells lovely though

I love the day the clocks go back - closest you'll get to feeling like a kid again with a whole lovely day stretched ahead and all the time to enjoy it
