Yeah, probably. I do wish there was a way to send a "knock that shit off" message, though.

Surely if you skip the sugar, flour and baking soda, you end up with an omelette, or maybe a custard?

Honestly. I have a bus stop right outside my place. People waiting literally stand in my driveway. Sometimes I have to politely ask them to move.

I'm not necessarily agreeing with you here. I could have done with a little anthropology, sociology or something in my first job as a policy advisor, along with the data analysis skills I was hired for.
Just saying that different places do things differently.

"Umberto Eco says your lived experience is wrong"

That's sure gonna make me feel safe, my person-hood acknowledged and that my "no" will be respected, yessiree, Bob.

I'd guess it was the sort of "sit in the office and push the big red button if anything goes wrong" type of job they give engineering students for work experience.

...and then you have to fact-check it to make sure it bears any resemblance to the numbers you had to begin with...

The more I think about it, the more I am coming to the conclusion that the only way forward will be the return of the viva voce.

I'm now imagining one of those cat startled by cucumber videos, only it's a Tory and a samosa.
