Yep, prison’s got WiFi. Comes with a free brainwash subscription too! Funny thing is, the echo chamber in my 6x8 cell still feels more wider and open minded than most of what I see out there.

Let Demirtaş be released, let the Kurds be Kurds again, and let all of Turkey dance in celebration. Clearly, these are the biggest threats to democracy right now and of course it has absolutely nothing to do with Erdogan. He is the only one who can make these things happen. So, he must rule forever.

Ne mucizesi. Adamlar seneler harcadı 300 km/saat ile giden arabada kaza yapan sürücüyü nasıl öldürmeyiz diye. Kolay kolay kimsenin burnu bile kanamıyor artık kazalarda. Mucizenin adı bilim.

Whatever we think we’re saving today may have no meaning left two years from now.

The reality is, Erdoğan has made himself the precondition for any peace narrative. Success will be sold to the public as only possible with him.

And once again continuing with Erdoğan - no matter the reason - means forever continuing with Erdoğan.

But the question is: If Erdoğan didn’t condition the process on his own re-election, would this even be happening?

And if this process is truly necessary — which it seems to be — why can’t DEM say: “Yes to the process, but Erdoğan must go regardless”?

I was on the streets when Demirtaş was arrested, when trustees replaced elected mayors.
What I’m questioning here is not who did this or why. As I said above, maybe DEM is supporting this process out of pragmatic necessity.

We’ll all witness what kind of political process can truly unfold without the knowledge and involvement of this majority.

Meanwhile, DEM Party is attempting to write a democracy fairytale on top of the suffering of these people by turning its back on them. But there’s one key difference now: these people are no longer a minority—they are the majority.

Unfortunately, certain "pro-Kurdish" groups have fallen into the illusion of democracy again, or they’ve decided that since the system won’t change, it’s best to ignore everything and extract whatever gains they can. In doing so, they offer Erdoğan a sliver of hope for retaining domestic power.

The opposition bloc that once voted to get HDP into parliament for the sake of Turkish-Kurdish peace—and in return gained HDP support in key races—is now the very group Erdoğan targets with the most hatred.

Erdoğan’s plan is to use temporary international permissiveness to seal the gates of hell on everyone inside.

The fact that the international climate currently favors such actions doesn’t necessarily mean the motive is international. For someone who might not even hold onto power, international relations offer little personal benefit. +
