Trolleys (i.e., shopping carts) have escalators in shops (the ramps are flat and the wheels on the trolleys are magnetic. Most shops are in mall-like complexes - where you push the trolley through the mall.

Non-imported groceries are reasonably priced. I was shocked at how affordable avocados are. DO NOT BUY Cinnamon Toast Crunch.

Swim in-between the flags!!! On the beach the lifeguards (which Aus has it's own national lifeguard service [ALS]) will direct you where you can swim. Also helpful for not getting hit by a surfboard.
