I don’t want immigration enforcement at all. It starts and ends with racism. “Going after criminals” is never the actual goal and is a waste of time when we have more native born criminals than immigrant criminals.

Further, you claim that Murphy is mocking her for failing according to her own metric which he does not share, but that’s something I don’t see. There’s no indication that he doesn’t share that metric.

I could see how you might think this if this was the first sentence you ever read in your life.
But otherwise you would be familiar with the construction “this person wants to be congratulated for doing X, but that’s actually less than Y” which typically implies that Y is preferable.

I really appreciate this because I grew up fully in evangelicalism and the whole “evangelicals are trying to use Israel to bring on the end times” has never resonated for me. At the very mainstream mega church I attended as a kid that would have been a seriously fringe view.
