Here’s the view outside of my door downtown Toronto tonight.

Where these two are walking is where the sidewalk meets the road. Significant snowfall to be sure.

This city is going to be a mess trying to get around over the next few days.

SNOW ❄️ DAY

Feeling like I’m walking in a snow globe downtown Toronto today.

About to bundle up and buckle up for all the sports today. And continue packing for seven weeks in Italy for Olympic and Paralympic coverage. Stay warm out there folks.

Saturday night at a curling rink and there’s no other place I’d rather be.

More Scotties curling underway here in Mississauga. My home province of Saskatchewan on the ice for the first time. So here we go folks.

ROLLLLLLL CALLLLLLL — where are you watching from tonight?

Northern Ontario’s Krista Scharf is playing in her 13th Scotties

She opened this year’s edition with an opening 7-4 victory over Alberta’s Team Skrlik.

Scharf has been a runner-up twice before. Could this be the year she wins it all?

CURLING 🥌

A great crowd here at the Paramount Fine Foods Centre in Mississauga for Day 2 of the Scotties.

Some wicked rock-throwing to be sure. This 4th end between Northern Ontario and Alberta pretty spectacular. Nothing like being at the curling rink.

In one week from now I’ll be arriving at Olympic venues in Milan, Italy.

But for now I’m arriving at the Scotties in Mississauga for the best in women’s curling in our country.

Looking forward to seeing familiar faces and fans of the roaring game.

The Canadian para ice hockey roster for the 2026 Paralympics has just been revealed.

A brilliant sunrise over the big city to start the day.

Another flight, the last one before the Olympics, for some downtime this with family. And a detour to a swimming pool at the end of the week. More to come on that. Have a great day.

A massive congratulations to Switzerland’s Silvana Tirinzoni — who revealed today this was her last @grandslamcurl event in her career.

And what a way to finish it off, with a Players’ Championship title.

High emotion to be sure. Going out on top.
January 12, 2026 at 3:23 AM
What a spectacular finish to the @grandslamcurl season.

Congratulations to Team Whyte and Team Tirinzoni for capturing the Players’ Championship titles. And to Steinbach for a great event.

Thank you to all you fans out there for supporting this great sport we all love.

TEAM TIRINZONI FOR THE WIN

A wicked finish to the Slam season. It came to the final stone. Einarson just missed it. And that’s three-straight Players’ Championship titles for Tirinzoni.

And we’ve just learned it’s Silvana Tirinzoni’s last Slam ever. What a finish for her.
January 12, 2026 at 12:15 AM
MESSY HOUSE ALERT

An absolutely chaotic finish to this women’s final.

Down to skip stones. Tirinzoni up 6-4. Einarson has the hammer, throwing red rocks.
January 11, 2026 at 11:57 PM
Final end of the women’s final coming up folks.

Tirinzoni up 6-4 heading to the 8th end.

Einarson has the hammer trying to find some magic. Here we go.
