I drew fun diagrams to try to intuitively figure out anti-aliases before I learn some of the actual technical theory. It was really engaging to actually let my brain work through those problems. Anyway I tried to apply that thinking to this drawing.

Telephone.
I need more than 20 minutes of practice a day. Maybe I revisit this one. It was fun at least!

I took a small break for work stuff + partner visiting. I had a realization with the last one that the increase in quality was me accidentally messing with dithering. I tried it more purposefully here but with a bit of noise? I dunno. Green bubbles

I broke from the mold and actually just spent 20 more minutes on the last one. The last drawing I tried to incorporate some stuff I'd learned about pixel art and it was failing me. This time around I tried to lean into my traditional drawing experience

Not great, but I learned some from this. When attempting a drawing that has any kind of layering of important shapes, you should not use an 8-tone palette. You need more color to indicate layers at this scale.. Too complex of a subject for this size/color combo

I'm not happy with this one. I bit off a lot more than I could chew. I could probably spend 20 minutes on the proportions easily. At least I got to learn a bit more about value. Banding and all that. Maybe I'll try a gorilla in a few weeks

Sometimes you just start and you can tell halfway through it's not gonna be anything. And then you finish and you were right.

This is nothing.

I experimented with blurring in Aseprite for the background. I’m not crazy about how it turned out but I think the idea is worth exploring
