Good morning and happy Wednesday from the DNA Create team!

Today’s morning session is all about brains (literally) 🧠

Our students are diving into neuroanatomy and getting a firsthand look at neuroscience research, thanks to our incredible researchers at @devneuro.bsky.social 🤞🤞🤞

We wrapped up the day with some much needed reflection to gather our thoughts and project time where the students met their teammates and tutors! And that was day 1 at DNA CREATE ⭐️⭐️⭐️

Finally, we looked at behaviour via our judgement of time, how well can you time 60 seconds in your head?

We explored the concept of signalling by translating one creative medium into another ... ever wondered how to translate a song into a drawing into a story and then into a sculpture?!

We created our own cells in a dish using bubble cell prints. The resulting ink bubble mountains form patterns that approximate the organisation of an organoid

We looked at how blowing ink on paper gave rise to a similar branching exhibited in neurons. Look at these creations!

After, we had our 'Neurocarousel' session where we explored creatively 4 themes of neuroscience:

- Branching & Patterning
- Growth, maintenance & decay
- Behaviour & Interactions
- Signals

The afternoon session has started with introductions to our project groups and creating our group mascots! 🦋
