7 years after XR first called for urgent climate action, a rapid transition away from fossil fuels, and citizen-led decision-making, none of those demands has been met.

While we’ve been failed by this in power who’ve approving new fossil fuel projects while restricting climate protest.

I realise there may be people reading this thread who don't live in Cymru, & so won't have received the letter, and so won't know what we're talking about. As a public service I attach an image of the envelope. I'm sure Refuck in Caerffili would love to hear your views, wherever in the UK you live.

Utter rot. My daughter would love to have kids, but hers is the larger salary, and they wouldn't be able to pay the mortgage!

In the short run, we can survive the decline in wealthy countries by reopening the door to immigrants, which would also offer sanctuary to people fleeing from the climate breakdown and conflict we've caused overseas. Two wins, in other words. In the long run, we'll steadily shuffle away.

Of course, if economic and social life collapsed, the process might go into reverse, and birth rates could be expected to rise again. But is that really what you want?
For my part, I’m heartily sick of people who think collapse is the answer to anything.
