Oh how annoying having a cover on a raised bed is so useful in heating up the soil.

Good morning. Still relatively mild here. I am hoping this rain of the last week will dissipate some of the cement/ rendering the builders manage to distribute liberally on the ground which then got trodden in by them and the scaffolder’s. Rob and I decided wait till spring

In the words of JMBarry “ Death would be an awfully good adventure”. Peter Pan

“ Thank you for dying!”, that’s unhinged
December 15, 2025 at 7:06 AM
That’s what happens when you create a cult following ( Trump).
December 15, 2025 at 7:01 AM

Good morning. Love clips of trains. Always if travelling by train, I start remembering “ This is the night train crossing the border, bringing the cheque and the postal order etc”. Birds are chirping must pull the curtains. JR refusing to go out- it’s raining!

Thank you. Warned gallons of people here in UK last summer Australia was being blasted our turn next. Most thought I was mad. UK now under siege with flu/ Covid. Ahhhhh. Mask up

Good morning. Letting the dog out just on predawn the sky was wonderful. The tiny bit of white light illuminating the black fluffy clouds racing by and then within a minute the first signs of the yellow light of dawn over the bay. I thought, for some reason of Edith Sitwell she would have loved it

Oh dear. Last year in high winds, I acquired someone’s bag for collecting weeds. Never found out who had lost one though!
December 10, 2025 at 8:30 AM
Morning. Hope the tree/ lights etc weathered the storm. Having spent months saying please rain we were deluged with it! Feast or famine I suppose
December 10, 2025 at 8:08 AM
Morning. Oh that’s a lovely tree The layout of our village makes having a focal point like that nigh on useless but individuals seem to do a pretty good job in places. We’ve no street lighting or pavements, just mud covered lanes with ( horse livery near by) residents playing hopscotch

Good morning. Love the song Our House. Mild here but damp with drizzly “ promised”. My Christmas amaryllis is about a foot tall now. Think it’s red or maybe pink. Must get a stick in now
December 8, 2025 at 10:55 AM
Good morning. Nice picture that. Cloudy overcast here though mild for time of year ( have a few stocks in flower- yep. Planted them late). Just ordering my “Larry the cat”, calendar. Hope the JR is not reading this ( I know silly joke)

Love them visiting though they do play havoc with some buds.
December 5, 2025 at 8:12 AM
Morning oh so agree. I have taken the decision to radically reduce the stuff in the attic. However, I never thought I would be upset over bits of floor coverings. Down the bits kept coming ( just in case but never used) some nigh on 50 years old. Gosh what memories I didn’t know I had.
December 5, 2025 at 8:07 AM
Oh, maybe increases UKs chances of winning then
December 4, 2025 at 6:16 PM
Given the price point ( it wasn’t cheap) I didn’t get one. But the sound is very good. It’s a posh Samsung. Well you only live once.

Morning. I bet that’s a torrent after heavy rain. But it looks delightful in the pic. Have treated myself to a new TV. Much larger screen. Neighbour was right I will appreciate it. Can now read those strap lines that appear and the clock on the breakfast news.

Morning Damp and drizzly rain here. The sort, as they say, that gets you wet when you think it’s not worth putting on a raincoat. Yes the garden is in recovery. Trying to dry out begonias at present.
November 29, 2025 at 8:07 AM
Good morning. There is a chance this weekend that the soil might “ give”, a bit. Rob standing by to get the bulbs in. We are getting articles by water company that our reserves are very low and next year we could be in drought! Oh wooden spoon ( stem) planting of garlic has worked well.
November 28, 2025 at 8:08 AM
Yes coupled with dribbles of cement and paint it leads to a rather restrictive vision.
November 26, 2025 at 1:29 PM
Yes six weeks in. Luckily window cleaner here next week.
