It’s heartbreaking and appalling to know that members of Temple Israel woke up to such a blatant display of antisemitism today. In the face of hate, our neighbors are offering care, solidarity, and action, and I will continue to fight antisemitism with the people of this city.

I'm proud to have called the Northside home since Kareem and I moved here 12 years ago. I've been working on issues my neighbors care about – housing, liveable wages, community safety – since I got here, and I'll continue that work as mayor.

Right now, the City's homelessness response team consists of just four positions – and they work in a department that manages parking enforcement and animal control.

Our unhoused neighbors deserve dignity. We need to do better – and with the right leadership, we can.
