Nothing exciting, really. TTRPGs, medieval reenactment, woodworking, programming, philosophy, and a whole lot of reading.
LOLWUT

I mean, sure my search is insane (yes, someone wrote a converter to translate markdown to troff), but what the heck does Elon and whatever OS he may claim to use has anything to do with it? 🤷🏻‍♂️

Book #44 - Dreadful by Caitlin Rozakis (@caitlinrozakis.bsky.social)

I'm not entirely sure why this is classified as cozy, but I'm still getting to know the genre. For me this was a wonderful fantasy comedy about evil wizards, imposter syndrome, and how we get to choose who we are.

Sorry, I had to bring some The Prisoner in here.

(Thanks @foone.bsky.social!)

Book #45 - The Spellshop by Sarah Beth Durst (@sarahbethdurst.bsky.social)

Having dipped my toe into the world of Cozy fantasy this one was recommended by a small army of friends, so I had to give it a whirl.

I enjoyed it a lot, and have a much better understanding of the genre.

Book #44 - Invasive by @chuckwendig.bsky.social

I picked this one up from the library for a Halloween read. I didn't realize that it was, OMG GET THEM OFF OF ME!, sorry, second in a series, but that didn't affect my enjoyment of the story.

Post a perfect album from 1989, a perfect music year.

Big changes.

Book #43 - Bad Feminist by Roxane Gay (@roxanegay.bsky.social)

Just over a decade old, Gay's collection of essays remains relevant, which is sadly unfortunate most of the time, and definitely a good read.

It gives me some good things to think about.

Book #42 - Agent to the Stars by John Scalzi (@scalzi.com)

That was cute, funny, and even had a montage, which I love in a book.

I continue to be impressed how Scalzi's aliens are, well, alien. These guys are way more The Color Out of Space than John Carter of Mars.

Book #41 - A Philosophy of Thieves by Fran Wilde (@franwilde.bsky.social)

I think this is best described as a post-apocalyptic recovery sci-fi heist story full of lies, deceit, and shenanigans. I really enjoyed the lingo which felt natural to the story.

Book #40 - Deathstalker Rebellion by Simon R. Green

Man, I just can't get enough of his writing, and honestly I can't really tell you why. I'm really enjoying this series, which is kind of a shame since it ceases being free with my Audible membership (I know, I know) soon.

Book #39 - Legends and Lattes by Travis Baldree

I read the prequel, so I kind of had to read the original. Fortunately there weren't any holds on it at the library (Unlike the T Kingfisher book I have on hold that has me pondering a series of unfortunate events for the others in line).

Book #37 - Bookshops & Bonedust by Travis Baldree.

I picked this up from the library on account of a few friends raving about the series ('specially @baronessekat.bsky.social).

I liked it. The story was nice and cozy and didn't damage my brainmeats like many of the things I like to read.

Reading Green is like listening to AC/DC. If it is something you like, you're going to love all of it. He definitely has a style, and if that's your thing, you're in luck. Otherwise, well, sorry.

Book #33 - Deathstalker by Simon R. Green

One of the friends who got me into Green's work has been trying to get me to read this for quite a while. I read his Secret Histories first, but I'm almost regretting waiting.

Still, a fun story and definitely worth waiting for.

Book #33 - The Mauritius Command by Patrick O'Brian.

A book by Patrick O'Brian, read by Patrick Tull, listened to by Patrick DeWind. I'm sensing a pattern here.
