🎉 Big news! After 5+ years of consulting work under the R for the Rest of Us name, I'm launching Clarity Data Studio.

The name confusion was real – people thought we only did courses, not knowing about our consulting work building reports, websites, and more.

Are you attending posit::conf this week in Atlanta! 👋

Does anyone know why shapefiles for Michigan often end up looking oversimplified like this? #rstats code in the alt text.
An oversimplified map of Michigan made with ggplot. Code:

library(tigris)
library(tidyverse)
library(janitor)

options(tigris_use_cache = TRUE)

michigan <-
  states(cb = FALSE) |>
  clean_names() |>
  filter(name == "Michigan")

michigan |>
  ggplot() +
  geom_sf()

Running a business, you get some weird marketing pitches. Today's might be the weirdest: putting R for the Rest of Us on the side of a Nascar race race. I appreciate the sentiment, but not sure it's the best way for me to reach customers!

Thanks for sharing! That post was actually written by @jadeynryan.bsky.social. All credit to her!

Clarity Data Studio will have the same incredible team doing what we've always done: delivering clarity to clients through data.

And don't worry: R for the Rest of Us courses aren't going anywhere. This just gives our consulting work the dedicated identity it deserves.

I'm making a list of #rstats packages for data validation. I've got {pointblank} and {assertr}. What am I missing?

I'm doing my biannual donations from R for the Rest of Us to support organizations fighting for social justice (rfortherestofus.com/1percent). I'd like to support those impacted by ICE raids. Anyone have recommendations for organizations to donate to?

My pleasure!

Had such a great time talking to @dgkeyes.com about #rstats, unit testing, and missing data. Thanks for making time, David!

60% of his PhD dataset was missing.

Rather than giving up, @njtierney.bsky.social created {naniar}, an R package to explore and visualize missing data. "Missing data adds a new, unknown dimension to the dataset," he says.

Going to San Francisco with my 9 year-old son next week. Where should we go?

Odd. It works for me on my phone and computer. Wish I knew how to help you!

That's super cool!

Also, btw, I LOVE your post explaining ggplot theme elements. I refer to it all the time.
