From the beautiful province of British Columbia, in the great country (NOT STATE) of Canada! Ready to listen to the views of others, although replies may be snarky. Always willing to share some of the beauty of this world with others.
Found in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island. I don't know who drives this car from Connecticut, but whoever you are, we Canucks appreciate people like you!

Our lab was a special case. He would dig under water for sticks! And he always had the biggest stick.

I spent evenings scouring the fruit trees in Batac with my flashlight, looking for fruit bats. It was one of the times I was really missing my camera!

Finding nests of any type is a wonderful thing! Saw a nest yesterday about two meters off the ground, put my cell phone camera on 10 second timer, and took some shots to see if it was occupied. It was - by a very hungry robin!
I look forward to seeing some great hummingbird photos!

How did I not hear of this until I read Puff's post? I reposted her post but want to bring more awareness to this.
And for anybody who wonders what the context was, it really doesn't matter. Open racial hatred can not, and should never, be excused by "context".

Can't argue with that logic! I have so many photos of stray cats from various countries that I could publish a book!
Here's one from Mexico.

Obama Appreciation Day
Someone told me it was Obama Appreciation Day today. Being a Canuck, I may have a biased view as our news generally reported only good things about him. Here is Obama causing a stir in his tan suit.

Without a doubt, Venice was one of our favorite destinations. And I'm pretty sure I have the same photo taken from the same bridge! Of course, my favorite photo was my wife reading the Ponte de le Tete sign and realizing where she was standing!

This is my favorite market cat. Sprawled out on the bottom shelf outside a store in Vigan, Philippines. When I touched her paw, she rolled over and gave me the sweetest smile.

The Lapu-Lapu vigil ended with a double rainbow. I thought this was fitting. The vigil to remember the victims of the Lapu-Lapu Festival incident was well attended - many people including the mayor and three city councilors, and our MP- Elect, Stephen Fuhr.

One of my favorite photos of all time - Crowfoot, of the Siksika. I was proud to teach at a school named after him.

You can tell it is spring when the flowers start popping up! On a walk yesterday, there were a half-dozen making their appearance, including this yellow fritillary.

Day 15: Doug's Assorted Asian Animals
Been a few days since I posted. We're back on Canadian soil, and spent our last night in Manila. Here's a beautiful little stray from the Manila Bay seawall, a great place to watch the sunset.

Doing my part! Timmie's in Manila. On our way back to Canada after three months exploring Asia.
(Yes, I know Timmie's isn't truly Canadian, but it was still nice to see a taste of Canada in Manila!)

I think it's time to post this again. It didn't take long for the liquor stores in Canada to purge all American products from their shelves.
