I just want to use your SQL Server tonight.
I was used to seeing 30-40 seconds before, but now it’s around 3-5 seconds consistently. I believe Microsoft made some changes to the serverless stuff relatively recently.

My first reaction was "why wasn't this paused!?"
But the activity log says it was paused, so I'll just hang back and wait for my Azure bill, I suppose.. :)

You might not be shocked to hear that the docs are 100% accurate.

My mistake was first using a SAS token. When I'd set up the managed identity, I naïvely just removed the credential.

Wow! To be fair, the last time I used _way too many_ clustering columns was before we could properly use columnstore indexes for fact tables.
