There was also an interview of Butler and Cornell by Grosz and Cheah that I read recently, and I feel like it airs a lot of my problems with Irigaray, though neither side fully wins out

It's quite interesting. She discusses her tenuous relationship with Beauvoir, but affirms her nonetheless. She's writing straightforwardly enough here that I am taking this to represent part of her position. I will have to locate it in her oeuvre. Is it part of her turn to law?
