WILDER GIRLS x ANNIHILATION

Charlie, a 16yo runaway with telekinesis she can't control. A floating sphere in the woods, and all that's going wrong around it. Passages into mirrors of our world. A man lost to history, covered in flowers. Whispers that echo from the shadows.

An anxious runaway, Charlie finds an uncanny artefact in the woods, seemingly the source of her telekinetic powers. Along with her new found family, they must figure out why trees are turning to glass, people to stone, why music echoes from rifts into mirrors of our world.

Charlie's emergent telekinesis is the last drop that makes her run from her abusive home. She's welcomed by her aunt to a world of kinetic abilities and the uncanny artefact at the center of it all. But these powers are going awry, and the reason why might not be of this world.

What Moves the Dead, by T. Kingfisher, which is a novella, so you can read it super quickly! There's two more in that series, and the author has other horror stuff as well.

The Staircase in the Woods, by Chuck Wendig, and Black River Orchard, but that's a bigger book.
