I may not have "money for a cover" but not only did I make this cover MYSELF - I photographed the elements and then ATE them.

I AM THE BOOK AND NOW THE BOOK IS ME.

Join this online bookclub discussion with Nikki and Tanya about my novel SHIGIDI. I'll make an appearance and talk about supernatural heists at the British museum, African gods, belief and sex as sources of power, plus more. It'll be fun.

social media is exhausting to look at any feed on any platform lately for me, but I enjoy looking through neocities and other personal websites of that nature

The translations we're hoping to fund for a Black small press are:
- A story about a Black trans woman in South Africa.
- A story about a Black woman in Zimbabwe who deals with the corruption of the men around her.
- A story about three Black men in Tanzania who must grapple with masculinity.

African Translation Project, Goal 4: Fully Fund Two Translations, by 31 October, still needed: $3345, 67%, If this goal is met: Translations will be fully funded for Bengithi Lizokuna and Zvinobvinza,...

all discourse aside, there is one machine with consciousness. it's printers. they are alive and conscious and they hate you and they'd take your arm clean off if you let them. never trust a printer.

This is so interesting! But also a little infuriating, my poor past self was legit told all their issues came from their lack of a socially-accepted routine.

Is it age? Is it HRT? Is it having more space/capacity to live less online and be more connected to the world around me at a time when it gets darker soon??

Is it all of that at once?

I've been able to have dinner, go to bed, and get up roughly at the same time for three days in a row.

I've been trying to achieve that for years. I used to be really into self-improvement/-optimization and, it's, like, the basics.

But now.... ? Without even trying??? It happens naturally??

tl;dr: Bluesky began with genuine promise: a new social media platform where users could feel safer, but inconsistent moderation quickly eroded trust.

When systemically marginalized users pushed back, Bluesky’s leadership minimized concerns and began to target them for bans.

I spent like 15 minutes trying to figure out why my bathroom fan seemed to run more roughly whenever I stood in certain parts the room before realising the rattling wasn't coming from the fan; my cat was tucked away out of sight, and would start purring loudly whenever I walked past her hiding spot.

Hibiscus and cotton rosemallow may well conjure up images of languid summer days, but in Japan 'fuyō' (芙蓉) are used to indicate the onset of autumn. In the language of flowers they represent gentleness.

Kameya Shigehisa's (亀屋重久) 'fuyō' have some impressive stamens!

🐦SWEETS TO MAKE THE WAGTAILS SING🎶

As the famous saying goes, "hana yori dango" (花より団子), "dumplings more than flowers" (substance over style)...but why not combine them?

Flower-inspired sweets dazzle in early autumn, shortly before the swallows depart.
