While I agree, I also think this was a no win situation for him. If he did nothing, Trump would continue to make an example of Hunter for years to come. Now it stops and hopefully gives this guy his life back, eventually. And dad takes the hit on his own legacy, which he seems ok with.

Now if they could just figure out how to deal with abandoned restaurant buildings!
