As someone from the southeast, part of it is the ease of travel! We have direct flights to Hawaii from here while most others have to add layovers which makes a 5 hour trip into maybe 15 hours
(Disclaimer: never been and don't wanna go there but everyone back home keeps asking when I'll go, haha)

If it helps to know, I got a lot more interest around the holidays (Nov and Dec), especially with people buying art for friends or fellow ttrpg players in their groups. But it's been pretty dry the rest of the year. They're tariff-free purchases for people in the USA if nothing else

Like it's easier in some places than others but the amount of even femme presenting people I'd see here with tons of visible body hair and not caring or hiding? That was super reassuring to me too, people looking how they want to. I was still super nervous when I started tho, haha, esp with my jobs

I was trained to be shameful of all that but shaved for society reasons anyway til this year when I was like...I now live in a place I wont be torn apart for leg hair...what if I just don't? And it was oddly easier than I expected to just wear my shorts and tanks while unshaven. So damn freeing dude

like what are you even supposed to do this far into the project? draw wrinkles on every member of the cast? shrink their eyes in every panel?? remove all color?

when i was trying to get into pub i was straight up told that the YA demo only wants photorealism, so all the book covers being lightly photoshopped stock photos is because it sells better than anything stylized, according to them. i hate marketing!!!!!!!

- incorporate or build on the setting should they use it, or how to introduce elements from yours into their story. Lots of ways to do this which doesn't help with narrowing it down!

Using terms like "system neutral" is good too, so people don't feel like they have to learn or alter a system to have this in their games. I think the book and an art pack would be good on their own for this, but to really aim it at the market, I'd put together a variant focusing on how one can -

What I see game developers or game masters want in settings or elements they use for games is "modular" files, as in, you have the main PDF for them to read, and then you have the art as separate files they can either print or post during games to show players. That's a HUGE bonus for them
