Yumejoshi Project Diary
@diary.yumole.uk
Slightly feral #yumejoshi with just enough sewing and python knowledge to be dangerous. Documenting various husbando-related projects in my own little corner out of consideration for my main followers.

F/O: Kotetsu Kaburagi. I share. IDGAF.
The bad news is that the demolding was pretty destructive, so this imperfect take is the one shot I have. The good news is that the previous failed casts are similar enough for me to practice on.

I originally went with a more conventional cup before looking at skeleton diagrams and noticing that the shoulder cup... really isn't as deep as you'd expect, which is probably part of why it has the flexibility it does. So I switched to one that's only slightly indented.

The changes to the mouth will allow for me to use a commercially available dental model for the teeth and gums rather than spend a ton of time on a worse product that I can't reuse if something goes awry. Hence no teeth in this shot.

I am not a crafting channel with a sweetheart deal with a boat detailing company I am a thirsty mole who started this for financial reasons and is now just in too deep to admit defeat.

"Mole why not just use silicone straight up then"

DO YOU KNOW HOW EXPENSIVE SILICONE IS.

Yes I already have the foam one in progress. Yes I will finish it up to at least see if it works to my liking since it's like 90% done. I just had a thought last night.

They look much better and I'm fighting not to play with them too much before the glue dries. I will stay strong for the final product.

(Me. The answer is me. I'm an idiot.)

It also, admittedly, single-handedly kicks this project out of "yeah you can probably do this yourself" territory. Not because silicone is particularly inaccessible (my dumb ass managed to get it to work once), but like....... who buys two part silicone for a project that is otherwise cloth?

Should this have been my first choice? Yes. Probably. But I didn't want to spend the money on specialty adhesives you see.

I also received the components to redo the head, which I'm less excited about but still looking forward to seeing develop.

(Also he doesn't even wear them outside of promotional artwork so like.... if I go too crazy with them it'll just be silly.)
