The only problem I had with AoS at launch was the "no points/play with what you want" thing and that was rectified quicky. It was way more enjoyable than what WHFB ended up being when it died.

There's a lot of blame to get thrown around for WHFB's death, but AoS got way more than it deserved. It had gotten bloated, overcomplex and just not very fun to play. GW would have let it stay dead if Total War hadn't revived the IP, and competitors hadn't shown rank & flank games could sell.

There's a lot of blame to get thrown around for WHFB's death, but AoS got way more than it deserved. It had gotten bloated, overcomplex and just not very fun to play. GW would have let it stay dead if Total War hadn't revived the IP, and competitors hadn't shown rank & flank games could sell.
If they really wanted to destroy some consoles they'd launch the Steam Machine and announce they've learned how to count to 3.

Y'know a lot of people say that, but I can see a world where they keep it at $500 or under. They could very well use it as a loss leader knowing full well the profits they're going to get off every game sale. Selling a gateway to your own store front for cheaper is a legit strategy.

It's not hypocrisy when it's the plan. Take the money for themselves, use it to subjugate the populace, and cull the sick or poor so they won't cut into profits for their corporate donors. They want the poor to starve and the sick to die because they can squeeze enough percentage points out of them

Rhetorical question aside I do think it would have been an interesting choice to have Mothra and the MUTOs perhaps share a common ancestor and that being shown by a similar head. Have them evolve to have opposing roles in the Monsterverse Kaiju ecosystem and you'd get a neat callback to Battra.
