Enemy weaknesses were often fun to exploit, my only complaint there is that the d-pad on the pro controller 2 is complete ass and would register the wrong direction on a regular basis.

I do think the dodge mechanic needs a little more oomph, it wasn't always easy to tell that I dodged properly because the extra movement is so subtle, and it was often so close that I'd get hit even when I was sure I dodged properly.

Also, I liked the difficulty level, pretty much. Even though I was collecting powerups at a steady pace, I died a few times, usually because I wasn't watching patterns and was trying to facetank tougher bosses and enemies. Some bosses were a little spongey, but not bad.

Overall, I liked this game a lot, I really just have some nitpicks and gameplay elements that I wish were fleshed out just a little bit more. I didn't mind the Federation team too much, although I did turn the dialog volume down to 0 because the constant radio calls were taking me out of the game.

But then they didn't show up anywhere else, and neither did any other space pirates. Maybe the space pirates didn't survive the jump? But the Metroids did... Maybe Sylux used the Metroids to target the key-bearing monsters to try and claim the keys? That probably makes sense.

Another note... I get that the teleporter went crazy and sent Samus, Sylux, and a bunch of other stuff to Viewros. Seemed like Metroids are among the things that were sent over, and they merged with a handful of major bosses, according to the lore...

Speaking of the Lamorn, their heads look an awful lot like Metroid Prime's Core. Maybe one of them is tied to Phaaze somehow? Went looking for Samus, ended up on Phaaze, merged with the planet (explaining why the planet is alive), then became Metroid Prime, or maybe just influenced its morphology?

They're clearly teeing up sequels with a few teasers. The last-of-his-race alien said there are 12 more who scattered across the galaxy looking for Samus, and Sylux is now stranded on a planet full of fancy psychic alien teleportation tech that he was already starting to take control of.

That said, I really liked cruising around the desert, I just wanted more to do and explore on the bike. The handful of bosses that you fought on viola were pretty fun, and the post-boss lava chamber proved they could have done more.

I prefer the map in Prime 1 and the way it felt like a big interconnected world, as opposed to the hub-and-spoke style in 4. I was half expecting there to be fast travel between different spokes, at which point it would basically be Banjo Tooie in the desert.

I wanted it to be a little longer. Like, one more area, maybe two. There are a few classic upgrades we never got, and some corners of the map felt a little extra empty; maybe the scope was bigger and they scaled back?

Looked like the front panel was hot swappable, I'm sure dbrand and the like are on it

Unexpected third party spinoff of a core Nintendo franchise

(in the same vein as Hyrule Warriors, Mario & Rabbids, or Cadence of Hyrule)

you might want to write "I promise you, my love for Vaporeon is strictly platonic, I do not think Vaporeon is sexy" on it just in case

I still haven't brought myself to start The Shepherds Crown, but I recently started my first re-read of the entire Discworld series since uni almost twenty years ago. I've found so much joy in reliving these stories and realizing how much Sir Pterry's writing has helped make me the person that I am.
