That's sucks.
So to get a free Covenant Ring, you need to be a top 10 Player.
.....the sort of people who don't need them.

Hopefully that'll change, but I'm not going to hold my breath.

It could be that, just due to how weird the EN launch was, they *might* do it every .5 Anniv, as they have been speedrunning events to get EN caught up with CN, they just didn't do it for EN's actual 0.5 Anniv.

And yeah, same. A single Covenant Ring a year sounds fairly reasonable as a Thank You.

I don't doubt it, I do have vague recollections of GF1 being a tad more generous to other games at the time.

Ah, GF2 EN launched with the Covenant system (Sojourners event), and we got Aphelion much later than that, so that free Ring they gave us must be what was supposed to be the 0.5 Ring.

I don't remember GF1 doing that, but its also been years since I last played, so I easily could be forgetting it, coz I'm hoping 2 will.
I don't recall GF2 doing that for the 0.5 anniv, though the EN launch was very odd from my readings, so maybe the free Ring they gave on Launch *was* it.

I hope so! Deep Oblivion Part 1 was so good, and Intertwined Assault was great setup for where things are going, so the fact the next main story updates keep this level of quality has me excited!

Yeah, you'd think a single Covenant Ring would be the perfect sort of gift to the fanbase for an Anni.

Yeah, thats what I was originally doing, but something about how the prize menu was designed gave me the foolish hope they might give us a free Covenant Ring each year, which obviously ain't the case.

.....I'm just glad we got actual story updates recently to counter my disappointment.

So this event went from being 'Oh well, Klukais getting yet another outfit, but atleast Im getting all these rewards for it! to 'Oh, so my support is meaningless, and Im getting fucking nothing'.
December 13, 2025 at 12:07 AM
Only the top 10 players get Rings.
EVERYONE ELSE gets nothing of relevance except the worst versions of the participation Title.

Said Top Players, are the folks who BUY Rings in bulk, who have every character at Vertebrae (aka, paid for a maxed out character), and don't need any of the rewards.

Event moves to its next phase, where we damage a boss to earn support for our chosen Doll.

.......and now suddenly a second leaderboard is around, showing individual *Players* contributions.

.....and showing the rewards they'll earn.

....which are the aforementioned ring and customization items.
December 13, 2025 at 12:07 AM
I, in my infinite wisdom, thought that 'Individual Leaderboard' meant the support for the specific Dolls.

......so I swapped from my #1 doll Makiatto, to Klukai, thinking it meant I'd get both the Ring and the majority of the stuff that'd decently boost my collection score.
December 13, 2025 at 12:07 AM
Because underneath the aforementioned rewards, there was a Leaderboard, which'll reward the top 10 slots with a Covenant Ring (a paid item that can boost one Doll's stats by a decent chunk), on top of a variety of profile customisations that'll add towards an ingame collection score.
December 13, 2025 at 12:07 AM
Which also has the very clever caveat of 'Top 2 characters cannot be supported in subsequent events' (and given that Klukai is beating Leva by almost 20 million votes, it shows where the fanbases biases are).

.....and this is where my inability to read came in.

As it's the Anniversary of the game, they're doing a popularity contest for its various waifus (nothing wrong with that), which will reward #1 with an Advanced outfit and weapon skin, #2 with a normal outfit and weapon skin, and #3 with a weapon skin.
