Here's a look at Nemo's fast travel system. When you're in your bedroom, you can use the map to select a different bed to appear at when you fall back asleep. But you'll need to have collected at least 10 blue moons in a domain to fast travel to beds in that domain.

The familiars in SotN were a big inspiration for my Little Buddies in Nemo. But I wanted them to be more interesting than just a little extra damage, so they each have a unique ability.

I have such fond memories of the Nintendo Hotline despite never even calling it. It was just a fun idea. But it would be even better if it were in the game itself, and if you could pay for tips with the currency you've collected in-game.

And you might be thinking, "what do you mean animating? That enemy doesn't have animation." Here are the sprite sheets for it. Not too bad compared to some enemies, but even this requires a decent bit of drawing.

I feel like I should be proud at both animating and scripting this enemy in a single day (a small turret that tries to match your height and stay at screen edge), but there's so much that goes into making a game that it can instead feel like "man, that's all I did today?"

All of the other Little Buddies use pathfinding to follow Nemo around so they can run and jump through the world, but Polter-Pal just follows along behind Nemo. Here's what the pathfinding normally looks like. You can read more about it here: diesoft.games/2024/08/18/d...

Nemo's Little Buddies can be extremely helpful. Polter-Pal can scare a single enemy at a time, making them completely harmless. It's also just nice to have a friend along with you while you explore Slumberland. 🧸

As Little Nemo gets very close to completion, I'm thinking about an ending sequence. What do you think of this very SMB3 inspired setup where we'd show a little diorama for each domain? (I just have the one for Dreamswept Plains for now)
